Breaking ground as LA County’s first Netzero community required an iconic public space that is driven by the unique regional ecosystem, topography, community and culture. The award-winning Confluence Park showcased an emblematic building supported by amenities and experiences that engages the user physically and spiritually. From the Vasquez Rock inspired building to playgrounds where the Santa Clara River is front and center, users traverse the unique region that is Valencia in a built form.

Rise Park | Irvine

Rise Park was designed as the heart of the neighborhood. Stretching across three streets, it weaved through homes while celebrating nature, developed meditative spaces, and launched an Olympic sized pool. The site elevation changes allowed for elevated views and spaces that explored aspects of prospect, refuge and mystery. Custom play structure also introduced elements of risk/peril and interactivity that is missing in most playgrounds today.

Eastlink | Valencia

Eastlink was envisioned as a linear park terminating at a modern interpretation of a trailhead. This trailhead served as a jump-off point for the sprawling trail system that will permeate through the Valencia community. Trails were designed to accommodate NEVs to reduce the need for a full-size vehicles on the road for daily routines. Anchored by oaks relocated from site, a pump track allows avid off-road cyclist to warm up before their long rides.

Challenging sites is part and parcel of infill projects. The team negotiated existing flood zones, powerlines and a marginalized neighborhood to create visibly porous housing development with ample wellness paths, active recreation paths, and a great lawn centered on bringing neighbors together
Montaira Affordable Senior Living | Irvine

Montaira is a development for low-income seniors reflecting the needs for social wellbeing of the senior residents. The outdoor amenities include barbecue spaces, roof decks, a community garden supported by aquaponics, a greenhouse, swimming pool and spa, putting green, and a dog park complete with a dog washing station

Vivante Newport Mesa | Costa Mesa

Vivante Senior Living is a luxury senior living facility with wraparound services and memorial care. Nestled in heart of an light industrial zone, it serves as the seed reinvigorate residential living in the area. Residents and their families are greeted arrive each day with an iconic entry water feature. An pool, putting green, bocce court and reflexology path serves as exterior amenities to complement the interior activities.

Deerfield HOA | Irvine

The Deerfield Community’s journey on their first major capital improvements in 40 years, took them through reimaging their plant palette, repurposing underused areas , and a pool renovation project within a span of two years. Care was taken to maximize value through turf replacement and efficient irrigation rebates, low maintenance plants and materials, and replacing an unused sand volleyball into a play area, shaded with existing elms.
